Mental Health, please!

Lamentation of Mental Illness.  I have had enough of mental illness and all it brings:  police, firemen, paramedics, and Reality (it could be me)! I scream for all impacted by mental health, on all sides of the story book. Leave us alone please, and not this Christmas!  Read below the love a mother has for her child, new resources made available if you live in the right place; how families are impacted by the disease; and, the need for a Coat at or about Christmas.

A Mother's Love

Mother tells me my brother is not crazy or out of his mind; that he knows what he's doing. I respond 'nobody plays at going to the county mental health hospital.'  

Family

Last Christmas, I watched, as I held back the tears, seeing my brother talking-babble, removed from fellowship with his daughter and family members as we talked and chatted amongst ourselves while eating great holiday foods.  Love kept us in the house.  I'm sure many present felt the same tear-up I did, but held back the pour-down. My brother removed himself from the living room to the kitchen where he remained. We looked for him later about the outside of the house, he slipped-off into Christmas without family and alone. There one moment, gone the next! Sounds like a Santa move to me.  

Mental Health and Jail

If you're like me and fortunate to live in California or Florida, and hopefully in the right county, you have help through the court system.  Only problem with this help in California, the person experiencing mental health illness, and manuevering in and out of jail, must volunteer to participate. Really people!!!!  I'll take whatever I can get for now.  I remember last Christmas, I was angry and sad seeing my brother in his illness.  My brother is constantly being released before change, if any, happens.  He might be home for Christmas.  

A Coat for Christmas

Reminiscing today of last Christmas, I felt todays cold weather penetrate my lite jacket, I was reminded this past year I have given my brother the Spirit of Warmth with every coat I turned over. I too need a coat to keep warm, but I'll take my reasonable portion of mental health for warmth and make do until a sale on coats.
